This policy explains the limited personal data that may be processed when you visit the site, contact MailScouter or submit a correction or partnership enquiry.
Who is responsible
MailScouter is independently operated by Brian Larsen in Denmark. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@mailscouter.com.
This policy applies to the public website at mailscouter.com. Software vendors and other external websites have their own privacy notices and act independently for data they collect after you leave MailScouter.
Data categories
When a page is requested, the hosting environment may process an IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, browser or device information and security events. This is normal technical data required to deliver and protect a website.
If you email MailScouter, the message may include your name, email address, employer, role, message content, attachments and any information you choose to provide.
Correction requests, product updates and research correspondence may be retained with supporting documentation so published claims can be checked and changes can be audited.
At launch, product buttons are ordinary links to official vendor websites. The destination website may process your visit under its own privacy and cookie policies.
Purposes and legal bases
Technical data may be processed to serve pages, prevent abuse, investigate faults and protect the site. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable publication.
Contact data is processed to understand and answer your request. Depending on the enquiry, the basis may be steps taken at your request before a contract, performance of a contract or the legitimate interest in managing editorial and business correspondence.
Product updates and corrections may be reviewed, verified and retained to protect the accuracy and integrity of the publication. The basis is MailScouter’s legitimate editorial interest.
Information may be retained or disclosed where necessary to comply with law, respond to authorities or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Recipients and transfers
Data may be available to service providers that support website hosting, domain operation, email delivery, security, backup or technical maintenance. These providers process only the data needed for their service and are expected to apply appropriate safeguards.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect legitimate legal interests. MailScouter does not provide contact details to software vendors for their independent marketing.
Some technical providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where applicable, transfers should rely on an adequacy decision, contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.
Retention
You may ask for the current retention criteria that apply to a specific correspondence thread.
Your rights
Rights depend on the circumstances and legal basis of the processing.
Ask whether personal data about you is processed and request a copy together with relevant processing information.
Ask to correct inaccurate data or delete data where there is no continuing lawful reason to retain it.
Ask to restrict processing or object where processing relies on legitimate interests.
Where applicable, request portable data. You may also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency or another competent supervisory authority.
To exercise a right, email contact@mailscouter.com. MailScouter may need enough information to verify the request without collecting unnecessary identification.
Changes to this policy
The policy will be reviewed when analytics, newsletters, affiliate tracking, forms, hosting providers or other data-processing tools are added or materially changed. The revision date at the top of the page shows when the published policy was last checked.
Before launch, confirm that the contact mailbox is active and that the hosting provider’s log-retention and international-transfer terms are understood.
